Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State Receive Three Stars Awards

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Three Stars of the Week for ice hockey games played February 13-14, 2026.
First Star
Michael Hage, Michigan
So. – F – Mississauga, Ontario – Chicago (USHL)
2024 Draft: 1st Rd, 21st overall, Montreal Canadiens
- Shared the national lead for points (5) and assists (4) as No. 2/2 Michigan claimed five of six points against No. 6/7 Penn State.
- Assisted on three of Michigan’s four goals in a 4-4 overtime tie on Friday; scored the decisive shootout goal to give the Wolverines an extra point
- Added two more assists on Saturday in Michigan’s 6-3 win in Ann Arbor, Mich.
- Earns his fourth career Big Ten weekly award (2-First Stars, 1-Second Star, 1-Third Star)
- Last Wolverine named Big Ten First Star: Nick Moldenhauer (January 13, 2026)
Second Star
Nicholas Kempf, Notre Dame
So. – G – Morton Grove, Ill. – U.S. National Team Development Program
- Finished with 52 saves in 125 minutes played last week, leading Notre Dame to a win and overtime tie against Minnesota
- Kept the nation’s No. 1 power play unit off the board, going 5-for-5 on the penalty kill
- Led Big Ten goaltenders with a 1.92 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage
- First Irish goalie to claim a Star accolade since Ryan Bischel on February 20, 2024
- His selection marks back-to-back weeks that Notre Dame has won a Star Award

Reese Laubach, Penn State

2022 NHL Draft: 7th Rd, 217th overall, San Jose Sharks
- Tallied a Big Ten-best three goals and finished with four points in a road series versus No. 2/2 Michigan
- Scored just 58 seconds into Friday’s contest and provided the primary assist on the game-tying goal in a 4-4 overtime result
- Followed with two goals on Saturday for the sixth multiple-goal game of his career
- Claims his third career Star Award, having been honored three-straight seasons
- Becomes the eighth different PSU player to capture a Star Award this season
