Wisconsin, Rutgers Claim Weekly Men’s Soccer Awards

ROSEMONT, Ill.  (Aug. 27, 2024) – The Big Ten Conference has announced the first Big Ten Men’s Soccer awards for the 2024 season.

Offensive Player & Freshman of the Week 
Dean Boltz, Wisconsin
Fr. – F – Palantine, Ill. – William Fremd – Major: Undeclared

• Totaled four goals and an assist in leading the Badgers to a pair of wins to open the season
• Recorded seven points, including a hat trick, as Wisconsin topped Marist 4-0 to open the campaign
• Marked the program’s first hat trick since 2013 and second ever by a freshman
• Garners his first Offensive Player of the Week award and first Freshman of the Week honor
• Last Wisconsin Offensive Player of the Week: Maxwell Keenan (Aug. 29, 2023)

• Recorded two assists in a 3-1 win over Northeastern in the season opener
• Added a goal in a 4-1 loss to Delaware
• Earns his first Defensive Player of the Week award

Goalkeeper of the Week  
Matisse Hébert, Wisconsin

• Posted consecutive shutouts to open his collegiate career
• Recorded two saves in back-to-back 4-0 wins over Marist and Drexel
• Earns his first Goalkeeper of the Week award
