Nicha Kanpai Named Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Maryland Terrapins junior Nicha Kanpai has been named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week, the first honor of the 2024-25 season which teed off this month.

• Earned the second win of her Terrapins career with medalist honors at the Cougar Classic at the Yeaman's Hall Golf Club in Charleston, S.C.
• Fired a 7-under 206 (70-70-66) to win the event by one stroke, her second win of 2024 (Chevron Collegiate; February).
• Tied her career low with a 5-under 66 in the final round to secure the victory.
• Kanpai was named to the 2024-25 Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch List, and earned Academic All-Big Ten and Second Team All-Big Ten honors last season.
